Day in the Life of Christian Dooley
I must say that making this film was an experience that I will remember for a while. There were some technical difficulties, minor step backs, different thought patterns on how to execute a shot of film, and I believe overall, I came out victories in the end. I made this film by using iMovie, garage band, and adobe photoshop. I didn’t have a camera, so everything was shot on my phone and then it was edited on iMovie. For me iMovie was very easy to use, and I have had experience with it in the past. Adobe wasn’t downloading on my Mac, so it was the only option as well. In order to get photoshop I had to get another computer and download it there. That is where I made the intro to the day in my life. It’s a simple look, but it gets the point across and it shows what I’m going to be filming in my video. I made the background noise in garage band which was pretty easy to use as well. I basically put different instruments together asked my friend who is musically talented to help me, and we came up with that. Now, the idea for the production. I always like watching people on YouTube and what they do in their day in the life. I figured that I want to make one but add a little stupidity too it as well and try to be funny (which I probably didn’t succeeded at). That’s when I showered with my glasses on and in a bathing suit. I also put the soap in my hair before I got into the shower, so I was essentially doing everything wrong and trying to be different. I also pretended to be backwards when reaching for the eggs and other breakfast necessities. Right when I woke up I pretended to pick my nose and act if nobody was there. little things like that I thought were funny and I was trying to be different throughout the entire film. Then I said what else am I doing right now? And that is studying for an impossible test in investment analysis. I put footage of that in the film as well when I’m studying. There isn’t much to do around the house except eat, shower, workout, study, apply for jobs, play Xbox, eat again, and play Xbox again. I wish I could’ve gotten out more and added more to the film, but I’m not allowed to leave my house due to the quartine restrictions. I had a great time making this film I had help from my family, and when I mean help I mean holding the camera. It was great way to spend a day because I had to plan, film, cut, and edit it and I didn’t think about the quartine all day. The skills that I learned in class definitely helped me create this project and I hope that I can excel my career in editing videos.
